Essex County matches |
The last round of County matches was played over the weekend with a magnificent 14-6 win by the 'A' team over Hertfordshire, the league champions.
This enabled the Essex team to finish a very creditable third position in the Eastern Counties league.
Not such good results for the 'B' and 'C' teams who lost 18-2 and 14-6 respectively, however, they finished in very creditable positions of 3rd and 4th in their respective divisions.

Essex Contract Bridge Association |
The ECBA was formed in 1946. We have around 1,700 members and 16 affiliated clubs.
Based on the EBU's statistics for 1st April 2019 to 31st March 2020 we now have 3 clubs amongst the 50 most active in the country.:
The teaching of bridge around the county is encouraged. There are classes in many adult education centres and private tuition is also available. The association is very happy to provide help to local schools either by teaching or developing bridge clubs.
The ECBA would like to welcome all new members and hope to see them at some of the competitions.

Play It Again (Sam) |
Some Website users may be unaware of a wonderful new and updated Bridgewebs feature for reviewing your results. Go to "Results", and click on "Scorecards". Under each hand, there's a "Play It Again" button that's been around for a while. A new feature - the "Results Analysis" button - gives all sorts juicy statistics, including X-IMPs for teams events. It only applies where automated deal files have been uploaded. See the Help File for a full explanation.
