Administration

Many different types of competitions are organised during the year for experienced, average and novice players.

The teaching of bridge around the county is encouraged. There are classes in many adult education centres and private tuition is also available. The association is very happy to provide help to local schools either by teaching or developing bridge clubs.

The EBU are running a Tournament Director course (3 days) at Fyfield Village Hall, starting in August.   Details are; Sat 29 Aug: Booking Rulings   Sat 3 Oct: Judgement Rulings   Sat 21 Nov: Assessment.   If you would like to attend, please contact the EBU on their web site ebu.co.uk  

Regretfully Essex will not be entering the Metropolitan Cup this year.   The new date, 13 Sept, only recently notified, clashes with an Essex event already scheduled.

As a result of a second ballot regarding refreshments at ECBA events, these will now be provided only for Seniors events (those starting in the morning) and club competitions i.e. Fletcher, Essex Club and Helliar Trophies.
