The ECBA was formed in 1946. We now have about 1000
members and nearly 60 affiliated clubs.
Many different types of competitions are organised during the year for experienced, average and novice players. The teaching of bridge around the county is encouraged. There are classes in many adult education centres and private tuition is also available. The association is very happy to provide help to local schools either by teaching or developing bridge clubs. |

Owing to pressure of work, Po Shing Lee has resigned as Youth Liaison Officer; if anyone would be interested in taking up this post, please contact Margaret Curtis. Details of teams, venue etc for the Metropolitan Cup are given on the Notice Board. The ECBA has agreed a policy on behaviour at the bridge table - please click on the Behaviour link below to access details. The next Essex event is the AGM on 10 May - 4.30 pm at Brentwood County High School. This will include a meeting for clubs to discuss the EBU proposals. As usual, there will be the presentation of prizes, followed by cheese and wine and an evening's bridge. Please come and support your County. As a result of a second ballot regarding refreshments at ECBA events, these will now be provided only for Seniors events (those starting in the morning) and club competitions i.e. Fletcher, Essex Club and Helliar Trophies.
