Spring Novice Competition for Pairs - 2005
This competition is open ONLY to present pupils at bridge classes or other inexperienced players. The Spring competition is divided into two sections - players may play either in Section A (real beginners) or Section B. In Section A, the following only may be played :Stayman, Blackwood, Gerber, Take-out Doubles, Weak No Trump, otherwise natural bidding. In Section B, players may use any styles within Level 2 - including Standard English or Modern ACOL.
The competition serves two main purposes:
It is a fun event!
It enables you to practise and further develop what you have learnt in
Bridge classes by playing against other players of a similar standing.
A cup is presented to the overall winning pair in each Section, and other high
finishers receive tokens. EBU Local Points are awarded.
Date: Sunday April 17th 2005
Time: 2.45 p.m. for a 3.00 p.m. start, finishing at 6.30 to 7.00 p.m.
Place: The Canteen, Brentwood County High School, off Seven Arches
Road, Brentwood. (Seven Arches Road
is a turning off the A128 (Ingrave Road), a few hundred yards south of
Wilson's Corner at the centre of Brentwood).
Entries:
Fee: £4.00 per person (which includes tea / coffee and
biscuits). Cheques payable to Essex C.B.A.
